Nestlé Romania, the largest food and beverage company in the world, managed in record time to integrate the SOLGAR® brand, global leader on the food supplements market, in less than two months after taking over the operations of this brand in our country, as a result of the global acquisition back in August 2021.

The integration of the SOLGAR® brand is conducted together with the transfer of a group of highly specialized employees within the Nestlé Health Science division, which operates globally as a separate entity within the Nestlé Group, since 2011, with the main objective of developing new personalized nutritional solutions, based on a supported research and development activity.

In the portfolio of Nestlé Health Science in Romania there are eight products that can be classified in the categories Consumer Care, Medical Nutrition, presented here, of which the best-seller in Q1 2023 was Optifibre – a product with prebiotic qualities, intended for special medical purposes, indicated for the dietary regime of patients with intestinal transit disorders.

Thus, Nestlé Romania has currently reached an adoption level of over 90% of the almost 150 SOLGAR® products.

The integration of the SOLGAR® brand is conducted together with the transfer of a group of highly specialized employees within the Nestlé Health Science division, which operates globally as a separate entity within the Nestlé Group, since 2011, with the main objective of developing new personalized nutritional solutions, based on a supported research and development activity.

The Nestlé Health Science portfolio also includes the Resource range, a polymeric, complete nutritional diet recommended for the dietary regime of malnutrition and/or at risk of malnutrition, including in oncological conditions, as well as for other types of conditions. It can also be used as a supplement or as the sole source of nutrition upon the recommendation of the doctor for oncological conditions or associated with other conditions for adults and children, starting from the age of 3.

The malnutrition portfolio also includes the Nutren® range (Nutren Junior and Nutren Optimum), which contributes to a nutrient-rich diet for children, starting from the age of 1 and for adults. In the allergy products category, we find ALTHERA®, ALFARÉ® and ALFAMINO®, extensively hydrolysed formulas.

The products from the Nestlé Health Science portfolio are available both online and through partner pharmacies.
