Electricity supply in the counties of Ialomița, Călăraşi, Tulcea and Constanța continues to be affected due to the weather conditions – red code of strong blizzard, with wind gusts of over 95-100 km/h, heavy snow and visibility reduced to zero.
The intervention teams of the Rețele Electrice Dobrogea company and the contractors are working to restore the electricity supply. Following their efforts, approximately 30,000 customers from the counties of Ialomița, Călăraşi and partially Constanța were resupplied during the last two hours. Additional numbers of technicians were transferred from the Muntenia region as well as from the Banat region, to support the efforts of colleagues in the affected counties. As the weather conditions continue to be severe and access to many areas is blocked due to road closures, interventions are much more difficult. We prioritize feeding consumers with critical activities.
The electricity supply situation is a dynamic one, at 16:00 the supply was interrupted in 187 localities, for about 220,000 customers, especially in the counties of Constanța, Călăraşi and Tulcea. A number of 275 medium voltage lines are affected.
We are currently recording a large number of simultaneous calls in the call-center, which leads to a delay in individual call pickup. We assure customers that crews will intervene to repair damage as soon as weather conditions and road conditions permit.
In those areas where the network allows (it has been made safe), generating sets of the company, of the contracting companies, as well as generating sets made available by the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), which we thank for all the support, will be connected.
We are continuing to work with central and local authorities to identify and repair faults caused by the weather and teams will remain on the ground until power is restored to all affected customers.
