EnergMin Popescu: The national hydrogen strategy, action plan are important ministerial documents
The National Hydrogen Strategy and the action plan for the implementation of the strategy in 2023-2030 are two important documents that were developed by us at the Ministry of Energy (ME), Energy Minister Virgil Popescu wrote on Wednesday on social media.
The minister’s announcement comes after ME released the first version of the National Hydrogen Strategy and the action plan for its implementation for public debate.
“The strategy and the action plan are available for debates, and suggestions can be included in the final form,” said Popescu.
According to him, the national hydrogen strategy combines short-term actions with long-term action guidelines in order to eliminate legislative obstacles and provide support for critical investment in the production and consumption chain in order to achieve the national decarbonisation objectives in line with the increasing importance of this resource in the European Union’s effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
“It is an important step that we are taking for the future of energy. I would like to remind you that the legislative proposal on the integration of hydrogen from renewable sources and with low carbon emissions in the industry and transport sectors – which I initiated together with my colleague MP Oana Marciana Ozmen and other parliamentary colleagues – was adopted last week by fellow senators,” added Popescu.
On Wednesday, the Energy Ministry released for the public a first version of the National Hydrogen Strategy and the action plan for its implementation.
