Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja: “Today I participated in two important events that highlight Romania’s role as a central player in the energy sector in the Black Sea region.
At the discussion organized by the Romanian Energy Center, together with Energynomics and supported by the Atlantic Council, Eurelectric, and the Ministry of Energy, I spoke about the importance of investments in the energy sector and the necessity of transitioning to green energy in a fair manner to ensure Romania’s energy security.
At the roundtable organized by the Atlantic Council, we discussed the small modular reactors project at Doicești, which is part of Romania’s government program. This project will significantly contribute to the national energy system and is supported through the strategic partnership between Romania and the USA. It is a natural continuation of the work from the planning and engineering phase.
These discussions help us find the best solutions to address challenges related to energy security and independence, as well as the sustainability and competitiveness of the national energy system.
