On Thursday, Sebastian Burduja, Romania’s Minister of Energy, signed 19 funding contracts totaling over 100 million lei under Investment 5 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) – Component 6 Energy, aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in the industrial sector.

“These contracts will assist industrial operators in managing their energy costs more effectively and boosting production. To date, we have signed 48 contracts with a total value exceeding 525 million lei, which will support the modernization of equipment and the implementation of energy-efficient solutions,” Burduja stated.

Investment 5 – Component 6 – Energy focuses on upgrading equipment and improving energy efficiency in industry, aiming to cut greenhouse gas emissions by at least 30% compared to pre-funding levels. The total allocated budget is 64 million euros, covering costs for equipment installation, industrial construction, and dedicated energy management systems.
